Covering your kids in prayer invites God’s presence, wisdom, and blessings into their lives, helping them grow spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
Here are three Bible verses to pray over your kids this year and why they’re so meaningful:
“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”
There is no greater joy than for our children to learn the truth about who Jesus is and commit to following Him. We can trust that God will reveal Himself to our children while also asking for opportunities to speak about the Gospel and the Word of God, and that we would have the right words to say when those opportunities arise!
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
In a world filled with distractions and uncertainties, it’s essential that our children learn to seek God in all they do. This verse is a prayer for their trust and obedience to God’s will, guiding them through life’s challenges.
“The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.”
As our children begin to grow more and more independent it becomes more evident than ever before that it is the Lord who is their protector. May this verse comfort you that the Lord watches over our children even when we are not. We can pray that the Lord will keep them from all harm as we trust His good plans for both us and them.
Let’s commit this year to praying for our kids daily, trusting God to guide them every step of the way.
